Hart County Botanical Garden

Our Mission
To create a public garden that will be a place of beauty in Hart County,

providing education, enrichment and enjoyment to all who visit.
The garden consists of approximately eight acres located adjacent to Hart County Athletic facility at 1277 Elberton Highway in Hartwell, Georgia.   Under a new ten year lease, begun in 2024, your Hart County Botanical Garden Incorporated leases the property from the County at a rental fee of $1 per year. The lease also provides for renewal options in ten year increments.  The lease further provides that the maintenance of the Garden will be provided by Hart County Botanical Garden members and friends of the Garden.  Hart County will have no financial responsibility for its maintenance.

Hart County Botanical Garden Incorporated is a 501(c) 3 organization consisting of dues-paying members with a board of directors and officers elected by the membership.  The four directors are elected for two-year terms on a staggered basis.  The members elect officers for a one-year term.  The two co-directors of the garden each serve a three-year term.  Meetings of the Board of Directors are held quarterly.  Garden Friends Member meetings are held monthly, excluding April, July, August and December.

While some members are Georgia Master Gardeners, one need not be a Master Gardener to become a member . . . only a love of nature!

More Volunteer Curators are welcome.  Please consider helping your Garden thrive!

The meeting will start with a social time from 5:00–5:30 pm, followed by a brief business meeting.
Friends are encouraged to bring finger foods, a homemade appetizer, a dessert, or a delicious drink to share. Whether it's a favorite family recipe or a creative seasonal treat, your contribution will help make the event even more enjoyable.  We will provide all the utensils and paper products.
